Getting to know that I'll be going to NIE this July is a great news. But, to find 2 suitable sureties with all the criterias stated; is a great headache. After 3 days, I might find 2 suitable sureties after all. Its still in the process of negotiations. Hopefully, everything will be fine.
***************
The last few days have been spent with my lil' devil. My lesson plans are still hanging in the air. 4 1/2 weeks to be planned out yet I am barely there. I only had the P2s lesson planned laid out. Never mind, I will do it next week. Better still, by tomorrow. I wish!
So what did I do with the lil' devil? It was a trip to Spin and Vivo on Wednesday afternoon. Back to Vivo again on Thursday.. On Fri, we stayed at home as there was no one at home to oversee the ongoing renovations. Today, we went to Vivo again! Boring, you may say.. But today, there was these Power Rangers SPD at Toys 'R' Us. So, that kiddo being a fanatic of all these superheroes will definitely be excited. Hence, I brought him to Vivo to surprised him. That kiddo was so excited and when Pink Ranger shakes his hands, he got even more excited. But, he said he's scared to pose for a picture with the rangers. Hmm..
I took some passport photos for my NIE registration purpose. Some shopping at Page One. Stationery replenishment before school starts again. And, I did bought some expensive stationery that I used to have during my Spin days. Total damage =$30.05 after discount and no. of items = 6 nos ( 3 pen refills at $0.50 and writing pad at $2.10; the other 2 items were at abt $15 each)
Then, we had lunch at Mc Donald's. I think this would be the last time I am ever going to step in to the outlet at Harbourfront. I've had enough of their really ridiculously upsetting customer service.
What happened was, they refused to give me some tartar sauce. Yes, they no longer have it in those containers like their curry sauce, etc. But at other outlets I went, despite not having that kind of packaging anymore, the service staff took the effort to go to the kitchen and took some for me. This is the kind of extra mile service staff should go through to make their customers' day. Kudos to the staffs at Mc Donald's Downtown East and Centrepoint. Anyways, back to the story.. this boy was adamant not to bend the rule. So, to him.. NO means NO. And, he showed me the fucking attitude which really pissed me off. Well, this is not the first time I received such an attitude from the staff at that outlet. AND, I have enough. Luckily, I am no longer working at Spin. Or else, I might die of hunger on days I yearn for my special cheeseburgers.
The service industry people in Singapore are mostly too rigid in their working style. Perhaps, that is why I am taking a break from the industry for at least another 10 years. Its so boring to do a mundane rountine monotonously. At least, being a teacher is a process of trial and error; where we exercise our flexibility and alternatives in handling the same issue. I guess its a matter of time to engage in some new challenges.
