I am going to get nostalgic again...
Some of you might have known that during the 26 months at Spin, I've made a lot of friends with the expats working in the area. And, when I say making friends with them does not mean that kind of 'Hi' and 'Bye' kind of friends. Instead, it was the kind where we can confide with one another and bitch around whenever and where ever there is a need too.
These friendships forged was made stronger especially after I left Spin. As much as I missed these guys, they too missed me. We'll try to keep in touch via e-mails, sms-es, phone calls as well as meeting up.
I've met up with a couple of them and more is to come during the June vacation. Having expats as friends does not mean I am belittling my friendships with my local friends. I would very much want to catch up with them.
Today, is one of the days where a visit to Spin is very fulfilling. In fact, I got what I wanted. Ok, here's what happened.
Its Friday. As planned, I wanted to go home to rest. As expected, there was contact time. I was all prepared to go back at 5-6 -ish. Like always... However, today's contact time was short. Less than an hour. Thank God. I could barely opened my eyes. I was rubbing my eyes as if there was a mosquito bite, though it wasn't itchy one bit.
After about 15 minutes of the meeting, my handphone beep. 1 message received. Initially, I couldn't be bothered to read it cos I thought nothing important. I was more eager to get home to check my emails for replies from 'C', 'D' and Big Daddy as I've finally sent them my email. But, thanks to boredom... I read the message. It was Raul. To cut the story short, he was asking if I wanted to meet him today instead.
I would very much want to meet him today cos I've fears that if I am going to meet him tomorrow, I might not catch the last of United home game. To summarise, we decided on today but he won't knock off till about 5.30.. and I was done for the day like at 3.45 pm?
What was I supposed to do during that time? Stay and rot at my workstation? Walk round Vivo to kill time? Or, head down to Spin for the second time of the week?? And, I didn't have my laptop with me.. so it was going to be boring.
Somehow, a strong feeling inside me brought my legs to Spin for I was dying of coffee as my eyes were all droopy and barely opened.
Guess what?? I was in for a surprise!
My ex-colleague told me that Pete came over and sent his regards to me. I was skeptical about it.. Pete? I knew it was PL but I was hoping for the other one. But, in my sweetest dream cos he's in Denmark and we're in contact every day. So, how could he be in Singapore? Hehe..
After some delibration, I sms-ed him cos I knew he misses me. Haha.. And, as expected, he made his way down to say 'Hi' to me and catch up a bit. It was great seeing him and I truly missed chatting with him!
While waiting for Raul, I saw the man that I was waiting to see for a long long time! He was the man that I had a liking for. Tall and good looking. Nothing serious. He's one of my favourite customers! Yes, he gave me a BIG hug! haha.. And, we'll be meeting up in June. I met his buddy as well. And, he's another guy whom I badly wanted to meet up since I left. They were away when I left, so after like almost 3 months.. I finally sees them!
I also met up with Tim. He told me that he's retiring. But for now, he's going to the US for a holiday. And.. guess what did I asked him to get me?? Its Hershey's symphony chocolates!! I hope, as an American, he'll get it for me! Or rather, he knows what I want! Blah!
All in all... I had a great day with these guys. Though short, it was nice! Dinner was great. We went Japanese today. It was barely empty when we came but when we got out of the place, my god! The queue was so freaking long! We were so lucky that we got a decent seat and meal. Hehe..
I am so looking forward to the June break... I will definitely meet up with my all of them!! I am a happy person today!
