When I was in the service industry, especially during the days at Harbourfront, taking MC was a no-no for me as that means a day less to see the regulars and also some catering stuff may be in a distorted manner. During that 26 months, I only took a day MC because of an ear infections which was quite serious. Even, when I was down with high fever, I still went to work.
During my short stint in the shipping industry, taking a single MC was even harder especially when you got to prepare the invoices, sending out important documents for IG shipments and all... any delay will mean $$$! So, I took just a single day of MC.
And now, being in the education industry, just being away from school for two days, the markings have piled up like the Petronas Tower in KL ! hehe, ok.. I am exaggerating. But then again, I really had tons to mark. My lesson ended at 4 pm but I stayed back till almost 6 pm and only managed to mark like half of the pile. Another half is in my bag which I brought it back. There is no way that I am going to finish it tomorrow as it will be a long day with contact time and all..
Next week lesson plan is not done yet... functions this weekend and the ever important FA CUP semis.. Argh... !!
Moral of the story: Don't fall sick!
