Anyways, I had wanted to talk about my other passion.. Baking! These days, I kind of drifted very very far from my culinary talents. Seriously. And, I am really getting rusty.. I need to pull up my socks from now on..
The reason(let's say my EXCUSE) why I have not been actively cooking/baking is very simple, I do not have time. Ok, sounds cliched but really. When you want to bake, especially.. you got to get your recipe ready. But if you want to try something new, you got to do your research and get the basic right so that what you do will turn out well. You wouldn't want failure to greet your hard work and effort. After doing all that is necessary, you got to do your shopping to get the ingredients and all... and sometimes, the ingredients are never available and shops specialising in baking products are scattered all over Singapore and are all located far from my place. So, it dampens my spirits.
Anyways, I did some baking yesterday. That was just to do some justice to the eggs which have been lying in the fridge for a while.. What did I bake? 'Moscovis Layered Cake', basically just a glaced mixed fruit layered cake. Very simple to do but very time-consuming as you got to grill the cake layer by layer before finally baking it for a while. All in all.. it takes about 3 1/2- 4 hours to do it.. and that's the reason why the bakeries are selling it at about $36-$40 per cake depending on the flavours..

While I was half way doing my baking, my mum came into the kitchen and told me to bake cheesecake when I am free! Urgh.. must I??
Anyways.. I am going to keep my Kenwood mixer back to where it belong..! I am not going to bake again till maybe on the 13th of next month for my niece's 1st birthday party! What do I have in mind? Chocolate Glazed brownies!
